Dell laptop stuck on logo service

Dell laptop stuck on logo  service

  1. Perform a Power Cycle:

    • Shut down your laptop by pressing and holding the power button until it turns off completely.
    • Disconnect all external devices (such as USB drives, printers, or external monitors) and remove the laptop's battery (if it's removable).
    • Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
    • Reinsert the battery (if applicable) and power on the laptop to see if it boots past the logo screen.
  2. Boot into Safe Mode:

    • Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key or Shift + F8 during the boot process to access the Advanced Boot Options menu.
    • From the menu, select "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking" and press Enter.
    • If your laptop boots into Safe Mode successfully, it indicates that a third-party software or driver may be causing the issue. You can then troubleshoot further by uninstalling recently installed programs or updating drivers.
  3. Run System Diagnostics:

    • Many Dell laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues. Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (usually F12) to access the boot menu.
    • Select "Diagnostics" or "Dell Diagnostics" from the boot menu and follow the on-screen instructions to run the diagnostic tests.
    • If any hardware issues are detected, note the error codes or messages displayed and consult Dell's support documentation or contact Dell's customer support for assistance.
  4. Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • Restart your laptop and access the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing the appropriate key (usually F2 or Del) during the boot process.
    • Navigate to the "Exit" or "Reset" tab and select the option to "Load Defaults" or "Restore Defaults."
    • Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI settings. Restart your laptop and see if it boots past the logo screen.
  5. Perform a System Restore:
